According to the website- Sunday has been cancelled due to weather: NEWS FLASH: Due to severe weather conditions forecast on Sunday and Monday (September 15/16), the Sunday of this weekend's Southport Air Show has been cancelled. Saturday's show will still go ahead as planned with the Red Arrows opening the flying schedule at 1pm. Please read the press release attached. Saturday 14th September will go ahead as planned. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY BUSY EVENT AND NORMAL TRAVELLING TIMES WILL NOT SUFFICE, WE ADVISE YOU TO ARRIVE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. The Air Show village attractions on site will be open from 9:00 plus you can watch light aircraft and microlights landing on the beach right before your eyes from 10.30. Once you are onsite and have your wristband you can leave and have a wander around Southport, with a nearby cinema, bowling and kids soft play there is plenty to keep you entertained. There is something for the entire family and tickets are only £7 if booked in advance with children under 5 FREE!
Car parking is £6 per car and cannot be pre booked.
All tickets purchased after the advance cut off will be £9, and tickets on the gate will be £9. Tickets are for entry only and do not include a seat.

Beach is horrendous. However I got right at the front. Red 10 wasn't best pleased having to walk through soggy sand! However Huey and Sea Fury now down to display! Around 18 light aircraft landed on the beach. Let's hope it's a good show!

Well the ground stuff has a lot to be desired at Southport but I won't concentrate on that because it's all about the flying! In perfect conditions, today was a brilliant display! Plenty of aircraft landed. The AutoGyro was brilliant. I thought to myself, how can something so small catch peoples attention but it did, it was fantastic display by him. The Red Arrows were the best I've seen them yet and every display team was well above par for me today. My three stand out displays were the pilot of the recognisance Spitfire threw that beautiful aircraft around the sky like it was made to do! He was incredibly low in the dives and twice he was told about the 100 foot minima, he didn't care and neither did we! Fantastic! Flapjack in the Hunter was superb as always but the Typhoon, with it's last display of the season was phenomenal and stole the show! So a few from me. Sorry if they are poor quality. I don't have any lenses like most of you lucky people have! So all of these are taken on a basic compact DSLR without any lenses. Hope they are okay The Typhoon making a brilliant noise and some clouds Best display of a Spitfire I have ever seen! AutoGyro Black Cats Lynx. I just love the livery.
