Beemer has been requesting this information off me for some weeks - and I keep forgetting to print a copy off my PC. As I'm sure others may be interested, I'll publish here I summary of the information I have, and trust that it will be of interest to others as well. Boeing 737-8AS aircraft that have left the Ryanair FleetSo far Ryanair have disposed of 25 of their oldest series 800 Boeing 737s, no doubt with more to follow this winter. Between leaving the Ryanair fleet and arrival in service with their next operator several months can elapse. Some aircraft leave a veritable trail of dates and locations, others seem to disappear. Any dates given are open to challenge eg a delivery date could be ex UK, or arrival at destination country or a financial 'paper' date, not related to any movement by the aircraft! Typing in the ex-regs to Airframes.org... www.airframes.org/usually comes up with subsequent regs, and then by clicking on the new reg, you get the del details etc. Comes in handy if you don't use the commercial databases. Cheers, Dave |

Thanks Dave, however some of this info is not yet entered on www.airframes.org. Indeed on checking just two entries: EI-CTA is shown as still in service, while EI-CSW is given as 'stored' - even though it probably was while at Prestwick for two weeks, before overhaul at Lasham for 5 weeks and respray at Norwich for two weeks in the 9 week period between withdrawal from Ryanair service before delivery to Ethiopian in June. |

Ref the text size, don't specify the size in the closing brackets, just /size (in square brackets, without the =3)

Magnifying glass not supplied. Ryanair acquired their first Boeing 737 during January 1994, the first of 6 from Britannia Airlines. These aircraft quickly replaced a fleet of smaller BAC-111-500 aircraft. Eventually the fleet of Boeing 737 series 200 aircraft was built up to 21 aircraft. It was the acquisition of these aircraft that enabled Ryanair to adapt the 'no frills' concept and trade profitably. The first retirement was in october 2003, followed a month later by several more due to skin damage being detected. The last series 200 were retired in December 2005, at which time the Ryanair fleet standardised solely on the series 800 New Generation Boeing 737s. Although it was thought that the majority of the aircraft would be parted-out and broken-up following export to the USA, many have continued flying in Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Venexuela, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Sierra Leone and South Africa !

EI-CJF was broken up @ Prestwick and the nose is now at Palnackie in SW Scotland, I have pictures if you want me to post them!

To update the Boeing 737-200's EI-CJF was broken up @ Prestwick and the nose is now at Palnackie in SW Scotland, I have pictures if you want me to post them! D Yes please. Would love to see them. Steve |

On 3.10.09 EI-CJD was noted in a compound in the south and west corner of Dublin Airport towards the 10 threshold. It appears to have the outer wings fitted again, standing on its own u/c, but remains less engines and cowlings. Over the 'flying billboard' colours, in white, cabin titles 'Airport fire and rescue training' have been added. Clearly non-destructive training use so far.
Many thanks J31 for the Prestwick photos. Very intersting and illustrate the thread superbly.

great pics j31. most of the emerald a/c are at blackpool still. a few have gone to better use. g-jemb is now with atlantic airlines of coventry. not sure if any others are with them. one of the shorts 360s is a clasroom now
