Play, seems quite on the ball with the marketing of Liverpool, they have also received quite a bit of publicity about this new route.

If I am honest, I never heard of Play, or if I did, It never registered much. Having looked the routes and schedules, its going to be of benefit to me. Paris/Keflavik/Orlando. next winter.

Play has arisen from the ashes of WOW if it helps, Ron.

I'm totally confused. Looking to buy flights for Orlando, and thought we should give these guys a try. The airport and the airline advertise Liverpool to Orlando for £327 return (via Iceland) with Play, but Orlando isn't a destination (or start point) to choose from on the flyplay.com booking page. Am I missing something? Tried skyscanner too, but not there either.

They must have dropped the destination. It was on there, they operated to Orlando Sanford airport.

That's interesting. Orlando certainly was a destination. I looked at flights from Paris to Orlando, and it was bookable... nearly did it, for next winter, but decided to wait. Just checking now. You are right. Destination no longer exists on PLAY.

Reported yesterday that instead of the A321Neo LR that was to operate the Orlando route they are getting an A320Neo. Blaming high fuel prices for making the route from Iceland to Florida unviable at the moment.

Don't like the sound of that. Takes me back to the days of "Above us only the Sky".

Someone needs to tell the marketing team as they are still putting out advertisements for the Orlando connection on their Facebook page.

This is "la merde" and exactly not what the airport needs. Another airline with promises that do not get realised. I am just thankful that my planned booking was delayed. Now I can go find a grown up airline.

Interesting sub text though. As a newcomer, Play will not have had chance to hedge its fuel costs. It has postponed the launch of its longest route. Will other airlines start to find that higher fuel costs deter passengers as hedges unwind?
