Have the shops and bars by the arrivals point gone for good or is this part of a restructure? Even Subway was closed at 8.30pm.
Could it have anything to do with the excessive parking charges keeping people away? The roads around the airport are becoming more and more congested as relatives wait for the phone call to come to say I'm at the pickup point........ come and get me.
Whichever way you look at it, with nothing to do or see at the airport, landside businesses are really losing out to what should be a captive patronage.

The shops are being moved due to a concept the airport has in welcoming passengers and visitors to the city.
All will be revealed fairly shortly.

Toilets are due to be refurbished very soon. The Subway outlet is to be moved to adjacent the Go Pizza cafe, this will leave the whole of the arrivals frontage clear for the forthcoming "Spirit of Liverpool" display which the Canadian owners are trying to portray. All will be revealed soon, we hope.

Hi All.
The main complaint I get from passengers is the lack of a subway or covered walkway from the Drop off/Rip of Car park and the Hotel to the Terminal. £10 for up to 55 mins,is this the Worlds most expensive Airport car park ?. I dont know of a more expensive one !
The Landside area is a disgrace the whole area needs a major refurbishment. The Toilets STINK all the time.I feel very sorry for the cleaners who try there very best to keep this S---hole clean.
Come on LPL senior management get you act together. Last year you had the cheek to complain about the taxi drivers in shorts and tee shirts, you need to look at your responsibility for the Airports image.

The clue is in the name - Drop Off - of the car park.
If that car park was made cheap to use then it would be full of cars whose owners are on holiday and there would then be nowhere for people then to be dropped off.

I was to busy thinking of how I will manage with the next Disabled person who needs a Wheelchair, which you have to walk to O.S.L.at the far end of the Terminal to get. This will use up all my 5 mins free parking. There is no free drop off or pick up at the Airport for disabled people and I think this is a disgrace. The Drop off car park after heavy rain is like the Lake District, money from the takings needs to be used to repair and resurface this and also to provide some way of keeping undercover getting to the Terminal. The rusty baggage trolleys in the rip off car park, that will not accept coins so they can be used, need freeing up or scrapping on site.
On a wet and/or windy day, if you are hiring a car, the open walk with your baggage to the car park is bad enough, but to be then be told you have a hike back from the direction you have just arrived from (ie: the terminal), following the blue paw prints, then turn right and walk even further, crossing a road roundabout, to collect your car from another external open air car park is another downside and a "put off" of using LPL. You have to make a similar journey after dropping the car back on finish of hire, before walking to the terminal.

Only needs to be cheap (or free) for an hour to cope with drop off /collect. Very unfair on disabled people.

Alan Jones. Liverpool,U.K. I phoned up the airport last year and explained to them I was dropping off someone in a wheelchair and I permitted to park right in front of the terminal where the Terravision bus parks. I was also at the airport yesterday and where the car hire offices are in the corner of the multi storey car park there where five OSL wheeelchairs lined up outside.

One point
"The shops are being moved due to a concept the airport has in welcoming passengers and visitors to the city."
What about the captive people waiting to pick passengers.visitors up from arrivals who nothing else to do except wait and possibly spend some money if a shop was open or available, most passengers just want to get through and out of an airport.
Secondly my wife is disabled and if she has to walk escorted to departures or out of arrivals the time it takes wipes out the free time allowed to drop off or pick someone up. Needs sorting.

The multi storey costs £5 for 1 hour (as per prices published on the airport website) not £10 for 55 minutes - which I suspect is what it might cost if you are daft enough to go into the drop of car park (clue is in the title) and leave your car there for nearly an hour. For comparison Birmingham is £7 for 30 minutes and £5 for every 15 minutes thereafter, so no, Liverpool is not the most expensive for car parking by a long shot.

There are shops in the check-in and arrivals areas but there are not going to be any backing onto the front of the terminal outside arrivals.
