Thanks LPL. Couldn't work out why the figure was so low, but I suppose it shows just how much Charter and Domestic traffic plays a part at MAN.

There are many seasonal routes exLPL, but they are in there as well.
As for your 'legitimate question' this is a a) a Liverpool thread, b) the subject is international scheduled totals, c) Liverpool has very little charter traffic and d) I am not interested in doing a Gatwick/Manchester version.

The distinction between charter and scheduled is made by the CAA in their collection and publication of statistics. However for many years the distinction between the two has increasingly become vague as charter flights carry 'seat only' and scheduled flights carry passengers on packaged arrangements. There are a considerable number of destinations in the list that are highly unlikely to be served by charter flights from Manchester.
Providing that a table of statistics is clearly titled as to what the table shows, I have no problem. Any table has to be considered in the light the well known quote "there are lies, damn lies and statistics".

Looking at the table, Liverpool obviously has high amounts of traffic on many of its scheduled routes compared to other airports in similar sized cities in the UK. This should give any prospective airlines some confidence in trying new routes. For that reason, I can't help but think that there should be a healthy demand for destinations further afield.
It shouldn't be too long before the Lo-Cos start to diversify into long haul and I think that New York and Dubai would be good routes to test the water with. And this time not with just one totally unreliable aircraft!

Do you know what delta154? I think both LPL and Viscount have explained that these are the international scheds as per the CAA published figures - that is how they are done.
Once again delta154 you are trying to be picky with respected members who go out of their way to provide honest information and data for this site and you always seem to deliberately stir things up. Well this time I'm not having it anymore, you are OUT.
I don't normally like to do this, I have tried to give peace a chance, but this time I have just had enough - I think I'll pack up altogether myself too.

LPL has done a sterling job here and should be congratulated for giving we who support the airport such in-depth stats. The Airport Management team obviously has this information, and much more beside I should imagine, at their fingertips when they discuss services with prospective airlines. The positive thing I take from LPL's stats is that LJLA is ahead on the routes served by the airport of many UK airports that are ahead of LJLA in the "top ten" league. Shows that the airport has done its homework and given the local users the routes they want - and will support.
Finally, thank you to Dave for stamping on disproportionate criticism.
