Maybe a good job for FoLA? I know it should be a job for the airport, but it would be a helpful task to undertake.

The tube as you call it Vanguard is truly horrendous. Apart from the rain gettin in it’s the grass and weeds ( last time I walked in it) coming in round the bottom. Terrible first introduction to Liverpool. The arrivals and departure "walkway" or tube was when I was there cold in the winter, warm in summer and when it rains the walk way becomes a paddling pool,as you say not a very good start or finish for the passengers, the airport should be ashamed of it,should have been sorted out a long time ago, let's hope it's done correctly this time.

Just had a look at LBA's dep/arr gates on FR24, there seems to be something similar for the passengers but a much better build, that's just my opinion though.

Remember before the tube, when it was completely open to the elements

Remember before the tube, when it was completely open to the elements When we finished our shift and going home we had to use the "walkway or tube" to get to CP1 and it was as if the cover was not there.

now with 4 new jet2s soon to be 5 and 1 additional Ryanair, will we see any terminal fixtures or changes? that taxi rank is mental sometimes when 3 arrivals have come in at once/

They wont do anything other than whats been done until the summer schedules are out of the way.
Major building expansion I doubt will be finalised until the airport gets firm contracts signed for growth from the airlines.

The improvements to arrivals are under way with an extension to Boarder Force area ongoing now, due to time limits with the arrival of Jet2 the main arrivals entrance will be changed over Winter to make it more accessible and pleasing than the ramp we have now, which means the existing baggage 5 being taken out.

Belt 5 was always terrible, who ever thought of putting it in that particular place obviously hadn't thought it through very well.

Belt 5 is being moved is good, the CTA arrivals room is absolutely minuscule it can barely handle 1 flight let alone 2 at once.
2 empty gates downstairs at EasyJet end 5 and 6 which are fairly big only downside they are bussing gates, but COULD be used if someone could walk them across the tarmac to that certain flight. Like gate 5 for stand 51 etc. gate 8 and 11 are tiny

There is to be an increase in bussing.

I seem to remember several months ago there was talk of an extension to the tango apron to provide 3 new stands, has anyone heard anything regarding this ? I returned to LJLA from MAN.to work on the ramp in 2005 just after stands 54,55 and 56 came in to use.One of the things that was said
at the time was more new stands would be started towards the east as and when required, still no stands but i hope plans are in place with wide body jets in mind ie; two large parking stands but could take three narrow body jets if and when required plus enough space for "push back",all that depends on pax.numbers and money, time will tell.
