Re Berlin flight, with Berlin Tegal closing could it be that slots at Berlin SXF are a problem with possible overcrowding and maybe that is why the service was not found on the system?

Who knows, but they are going to continue to operate from Manchester, the Easyjet agent offered me this for next April for Easter.
Its rather disappointing as LPL-BER is such a long standing route. I have read somewhere that Germany in general is not very profitable for Easyjet.

easyJet restart to 6 domestic locations tomorrow from Belfast so it makes sense that the LJLA early morning flight is flown by a Belfast based aircraft. Two A320's positioned to Belfast yesterday - EZUS and EZUP.

I checked about a week or so ago, and I could see "SOLD OUT" for all of July. As this was pretty impossible, I emailed and said, you are obviously cancelling the whole month, can i have a refund please. I got a reply to say, the flight was still operating, and normal cancellation rules apply ! Two days later, an email to say flight is cancelled. I'm now on FR from Liverpool.

'sold out' is airlines shorthand for being cancelled.

'sold out' is airlines shorthand for being cancelled. That what I thought, I would have preferred for them to be up front. I also want to fly from Liverpool, which they cant offer in July ?!

Probably down to the contact centre operators lack of knowledge more than professionalism.

This is an awkward situation that is unfortunately playing itself out the world over due to covid-19 and the constantly changing and evolving operations plans. At Delta, we have had our fair share of setbacks, such as cancellations of planned routes often at very short notice. For example, it can be due to constantly changing government regulations or restrictions in various countries. The airlines want to operate and sell seats on flights - with the selling of seats being paramount. This provides income coming in. If the flights do get pushed back or cancelled, the airlines try to keep the passengers booked with them by offering rebookings. They absolutely do not want to give the money back because they are bleeding money - and they have since the pandemic started. This is especially so when the airlines may not be flush with money, and need to conserve money by any means possible. When it looks like flights cannot operate as planned, yes indeed it is standard procedure for airlines to show flights as sold out - to stop any further sales of those flights. This buys them time to come up with a plan B. I would guess that Easyjet delayed LPL flights until August because overall bookings may be below projections in the Northwest. By consolidating flights out of MAN, they can operate these flights and get the income, and not have to cancel / rebook or refund tickets; and maybe lose passengers to competitors. The fact that MAN is so close unfortunately would make this an easy decision for them to make. The question now will be what happens if August projections fall below below projections too. Yes, it is going to inconvenience many passengers....but at least they can protect many of the passengers. Yes, it may feel like a punch in the gut, but it may be the most logical thing to do...and yes, it would certainly point to which airport is seen as more important.

A post on twitter suggest Easyjet are to close bases at NCL, STN and SEN With their overwhelming presence at Gatwick, pre Covid-19, STN & SEN are not surprising. Virgin ceasing ops at LGW will free up even more slots.
