Ian, Just spoken to a member of staff at the A.V.P. and he has informed me at this moment of time they are still selling the Passes/Cards at £25.£50 and£100. They have not been told a date to stop selling these passes. Hope this helps.
Norman.

As a matter of interest, who profits from the AVP? I assume Manchester Airport plc are the owners of the land, while Cheshire Countryside Rangers (if I have the title correctly) operate the site. So, who has caused the price hike? Is it the Airport Company, trying to cover falling income due to decreasing passenger numbers; is it to cover the cost of putting Concorde under cover; or the Ranger Service to cover falling Local Authority grants and rising costs. Seems to be a lot more than rate of inflation certainly.

If you pay by cheque then its written out to 'Manchester Airport plc' so I guess the Airport take all the profits.

Popped in to the A.V.P.to-day to buy a £25. spot card, and the attendant informed me that under the new pricing structure, the cardholder can bring in as many passengers as the vehicle will hold at no extra cost !!With the new barrier operated system using time stamped tickets,he also said that it would be impossible to charge visitors who just walked in.From this I can only assume that pedestrians are now free, and, possibly cyclists?

The price has gone up 240% for this year and if you go back to the last rise a year ago when it was £3 per entry it has risen 400%. That is a rip off and yet the locals seem to put up with it because they have a multi visit ticket. They fail to see that a lot of revenue will be lost when people don't visit from further away or on the odd occasion

Pedestrians and bikes free but not Motorbikes taken from tas site. A case of buying £25 voucher book as soon as poss and checking for any expiry dates ? if they are still charging for extra passengers on this scheme then drop them off before barrier and they walk in on new scheme Brian........

I agree Brian, Most of my visits are for two people and we stay between 3- 4 hours. As a TAS member can't belive i haven't bought a multi access ticket. Guess what i will be doing this weekend.

Southside for me from now on. Went into the cafe the other day, chips, peas and gravy a whopping £4!!! and served with a snarl. Just got my books from a company down south via mail order aswell as 5 gemini models, I'll boycott the AVP in everyway possible.
I've no time for the AVP since they relocated the long mound which was good for photographers, now its not half as good due to the position in my opinion.
I wonder what the attendance and revenue for them will be like next winter?
Rant over

Does anyone know if the 25 advance purchase tivkets have an expiry date? Also, as an infrequent visitor to the AVP (6 to 8 times a year) is their anything stopping me from going halves with a friend and splitting a book of tickets?
Thanks
Steve

Steve,
The 25GBP card certainly has no expiry date on it but it does have your name. Guess it depends if the guy in the kiosk knows you by name!
Daz Kellett heard yesterday that at a future date the multi entry pass will have photo ID.
Also, apparently, the current pass does not cover passengers so the hourly rates apply although as pedestrians are free there were a lot of people leaving "on foot" yesterday!

Hi,
Have been TAS shop today to purchase a multi pass and was told that they had been instructed to stop selling them from last friday and not sure when/if any new loyalty scheme will be started. I asked the guy at the kiosk on exit and he too was not sure but said something may happen soon so keep asking.

I called in to buy a £50 card on Sunday 18th (The weekend of the Volcano). I used my card at the exit and he only crossed off 1 visit even though I was with my wife so I presumed the card included passengers.
