Jordan I know you've mentioned this before but not sure where the threads gone. What are MTT putting on the road on Sunday and what time does the show begin?
Anyone interested in riding on theses former Liverpool Corpy & MPTE vehicles, for nostalgia or other reasons, now the time to do it.
Steve

Thanks Jordan. I'm off on Sunday so will try and make it to the event. South Park Way looks to be best for me as I can combine it with a visit to 27. Vintage buses and modern planes....aaah; heavenly to say the least ;D

Thanks Jordan. Perhaps you may like to download a copy and send it to him. Spoke to him for about two seconds as his dog had an urgent need to find a tree It was nice to see some familiar faces down there. Rob hasn't changed much and didn't recognise me as he jumped off L255 but it has been twenty odd years. He was saying that they hope to get round to L161 during the winter months but it will be going back into corpy green. Pity as I think that would be a money spinner for them in City Circle colours, especially if hired out for weddings.

Nice pics Steve T,enjoyed them, here are some I took yesterday,it was a great day indeed. At south Parkway At Woolton Manor road. A267 AEC Regent V,nice used to ride them as a kid on routes 4/5/73 and 66 great memories. At Penny lane Volvo Plaxton B6 Again at Penny lane 1054 Leyland Panther,I must have riden on this and others many times whilst on 4/5/80 and 66 routes,I remember them in a cream scheme, before MPTE took over. On board 1054 Leyland Panther enroute Pier head to South Parkway At Penny lane again 2025 Bristol RELL6G,I remember these going past my office on the Strand on the dockers bus the no1. On board A267 from South Parkway. Atlantean at the Pier head Leyland PD2 TITAN L255 at the Pier head Wirral Penninsula Atlantean at the Pier head In a branded world we have turned our backs on our City symbols in so many ways, but thats progress I guess A267 AEC REGENT V 6036 Leyland national, being stretched off at half time, the excitment was too much I think. Thanks to the MTT a great day,and I spoke to a lot of vistitors to this region who were here specialy for the running day, looking forward to next year.

glad you had a good time calflier. poor old 6036 needs somework doing as the gearbox went thats why hough green had to come out and tow her back to holmesood were she is kept. i was on 7227 as the guard so if you rode it it was me in the white shirt at the front.
steve you might rember my driver brian moore wo worked out of speke with yourself and james but now does the park and ride in southport. shanks is james's dog steve, had to go and rescue them with the b6 as 0238 failed to start

Thanks Calflier, nice shots from you and Superian too. It took a little time to realise where the photo for A267 was taken. I remember the terminus and news agents there very well. The thing that threw me was the number 4. I used to depart from there in the early to mid eighties as a number 5 and 405 Rapidride - remember them? Still go past it every now and then when driving the 76. Yes Jordan, I remember Brian he was very much into buses and would try his best to drive either the newest or oldest models in the fleet. Shanks looks a lovely dog - very friendly too. The MTT put on a great day complete with authentic breakdowns by the sound of it ;D The only thing thats changed as far as there concerned is we never used low loaders back in those days. Bet it must have cost a bomb to tow the National back what!!!! How much Lets hope they got a special vintage rate

Its Hunts cross avenue, going back even further the 73 used to depart from there also,I used to get the Rapidride 405 to/from work every morniing when I worked in Liverpool city centre and it was always operated by a Panther. It was nice going along Menlove avenue towards Woolton as thats where the Panthers on the 405 used struggle upto about 40 miles per hour with a full load,LOL. I hope this event goes from strenght to strenght, bearing in mind its dependant on people giving up their spare time to operate the buses and the day. its a great idea, rather than a rally of old buses, and a good tie up with CAMRA to produce a buses and ale guide,as theres only so much riding on buses you can do in your spare time, without stopping for a pint.
