Lots of passengers on social media who’ve had flights cancelled to Rome for March. Might not have got round to cancelling all flights as yet I presume unfortunately

I saw social media comments, I checked to book ALC,FCO AND AGP and nothing available after Feb. Also not LPL related but they have also cut a lot off routes from their TRN base too.

Yes from early Febs post. Some others routes that are stopping: From the end of the winter schedules - Turin to Luton, CDG, Stuttgart, Krakow, Lisbon, Seville and Stockholm. Also Alghero to FCO from 16 April. Nearly all of those exTurin are now also stopping at the end of Feb.

Things must have been bad if they couldn’t even finish their last month of based operations.

Things must have been bad if they couldn’t even finish their last month of based operations. A new investor bought a 10% stake in the airline yesterday, timing seems impeccable. So perhaps an agreement was made to take some backward steps in return for investment.

The supposed reason for the based aircraft to be moved elsewhere is Brexit.
I say supposed as the reason doesn't hold water as the airline is stopping based flights from Turin!

I can understand cancelling from 30 March but not from 28 Feb. All very strange, hopefully the airport can get the Rome route operated by someone else soon

Bang out of order to leave passengers in the lurch, having paid for accomadstion, not good PR for future business should they ever return as a base.

The airline has also blocked several users from twitter for complaining about their flights being cancelled. While they will still going to operate 2 routes from Liverpool, hardly going out in glorious style, and, they don’t realise their reputation could be damaged for the other 2 routes.

Far better for the airline to cancel routes and the based aircraft than have to go into administration. Lets hope they are successful with their strategy and come back in the not to distant future financially stronger and able to expand on it's network. Damaging an airlines reputation by letting passengers down doesn't seem to affect peoples choice when it comes to flying from A - B. You only have to look at Ryanair to see that

But the difference is, Ryanair has an air of cockiness that lets it get away with the reputation it has. I feel blue air can’t quite match that.

The Independent and LJLA are running a line that it is to do with Brexit. Looks to me to be political point scoring. If that was true why are they still flying to the UK after the Brexit date, and why haven't they waited until the leave date of 29th March? That would have given potential passengers a lot more time to look for alternative flights and been lot more believable. It is my belief that this airline is restructuring like many of it's competitors and nothing at all to do with Brexit. www.msn.com/en-gb/news/brexit/airline-cancels-uk-flights-due-to-brexit/ar-BBTAbou?ocid=spartandhp

Because they don't know whether the UK will allow fifth freedom rights to EU carriers after Brexit date. The EU had published its fall back position, the UK has p@ssed about and has published nothing. Businesses require certainty.
