As a glass half full kind of guy, I would consider the continuation of the OTP for the Winter to be good news. Especially when many routes to and from bucharest are seeing a reduction during the winter period

I note that Blue Air is offering a connection to Iasi airport from Liverpool via Bucharest as part of it's winter schedule.

It's a strange one Bacau. Originally I assumed it was a year round service, so was a little disappointed when it didn't return for winter. But the loads have actually been really good, surely meeting blue airs targets. So they may have put these extra flights on having not planned on operating bacau in the winter, or maybe they did originally plan to operate all winter and now have decided against it and just given us this watered down version. I'm not sure but at least it's something and hopefully we see a full return for summer and maybe even extra Bucharest flights.

This seasonality is simply a case of being prudent. Flybe do this on several routes. EG Southampton/La Rochelle.

The airport is Iasi and not Lasi. The flight is a connection via Bucharest Otopeni.

Unusually for an Christian Orthodox country, Bulgaria celebrates Christmas at the same time as the rest of western Europe, which explains the dates. For those not familiar with the Orthodox religion, Christmas is celebrated on 6/7th January, which for most of us is Epiphany. The reason for this is because for religious purposes, the Orthodox church use the Julian calendar. Other Christian religions use the Gregorian calendar, (the one we are familiar with). New Year's Eve and day are celebrated on the same dates as the rest of us and are a time of great significance in eastern Europe and Russia especially. Here endeth the first lesson
