I visited this museum last October and fully endorse your comment regarding hangars full of gems. However, the real gems are those frustratingly stacked in the closed black hangar and have been out of sight for many years eg an ex Leuchars Phantom, Buccaneer, a Beaufighter and Viscount 701 G-AMOG (ex Cosford) amongst them. I was told of active plans to raise the funds to commence a new building shortly which would house the aircraft currently outside and release a number from 'closed' storage. Presumably there are no signs on the ground yet of these plans materialising. My report: derbosoft.proboards.com/thread/29997/fortune-perth-dundee-edinburgh-octoberGreat place, a little out of the way - but well worth the diversion to visit if 'north of the border'.

Hello Brian.
There was no sign of any building work on my visit. I am pretty sure there were no changes to the exhibits from your visit.
Cheers
Shaun

Delighted to see that they've got rid of the 'arty farty' banners hung from the roof of the hangar (on my last visit some years ago). They made photography difficult if not impossible. I'm a firm believer that aircraft in an original hangar should look like aircraft in a hangar!
Great photos btw.
