Hi Kuga 59,, know you mail abit ago, but remember going to Toronto on a Laker 10 in 1981,, passing a "Air Florida" Dc10.... First time went to MIA back in about 1970 with my new girlfriend on trains/bus,s from York,, would,nt even think of that journey now,, think we had a nice few hours saw Vanguards BA AF Caravelle,s that's all I remember, watching then coming in on 24 in the corner near the bus stop,, things you do at 25 when your courting,,,,, Next time was Aug/80 that's when I got hooked....
Did fly round Blackpool Tower 1n 1955 ish in a Dragonfly Rapide with my sis think it was 7/6 but cant remember on landing looking across saw a hugh big plane say,s Silver City Airways,, later in life think this could have been a Bristol 170 on Isle of Man Trip, but was only 10,, happy days Ricko,, alas cant take my wife there anymore.....

G-BPLA did not serve with Britannia that long, being with them just 4 years. It was leased from Transavia 1.5.89 until returned 39.4.93. G-BPLA was named "Sir Stanley Matthews" 7/90, the name is possibly on the photo partly behind the bottom of the open door, under the cockpit windows, so placing the photo as early '90s. The surprise for me, looking up her history is that she ended her days with Ryanair as EI-CKQ from 20.2.95 until wfu at Prestwick 10.03.
Boeing 737-2K2 c/no 22906, line number 888, first flight 15.6.82.
Registration progression (oldest to newest): PH-TVU, C-FCAV, PH-TVU, G-BPLA, PH-TVU, EI-CKQ. Flew with Transavia, Aerolineas Argentinas, Canadian Airlines International, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Britannia and Ryanair during a 21 year long career.
Any more photos where that one came from?
