I may as well join you in the 24hr ban, for fr24 purposes next weekend the regs are 9M-MAB/MAC/MAD/MAE/MAF and MAG is on order but very close to complete at TLS.

As a slight aside to that, I believe that Baku is the poorest attended of all the F1 venues, with Bahrain a close second.
My memories of Baku are less than stellar, but to be fair I was there in the 1990s and frankly it was a dump. Since then, it has 'won' the Eurovision song contest, hosted three F1 events and is now about to host the Europa League next year. Baku's ability, even today, to manage an influx of aircraft likely to appear for such an event, may rival or exceed that of Kiev! Another place which is difficult to get to and will doubtless rack up the cost of charter flights and hotels. Pity the poor supporters, whoever they turn out to be!

The football authorities have a poor understanding of geography.Isn't Baku in Asia? I don't wish to tempt fate, but this year's winner of the Europa League actually started the season in the Champion's League.

The football authorities have a poor understanding of geography but a good understanding of finance I will say no more. Isn't Baku in Asia? Yes!I don't wish to tempt fate, but this year's winner of the Europa League actually started the season in the Champion's League.

2 questions that I have are, 1. What time does the final draft of the flights get released ? 2. Could the mods tidy up this thread and put a printable list on ? Thanks.

A list of movements for the final will most probably be produced in a couple of days or so, nobody knows yet what's coming or not coming in yet as things can always change.

When the list is published, it will be an internal document only intended for distribution to airport management/departments, handling agents, apron staff, refuelling, HM Customs, ATC, Duty Free shop, Special Branch etc - it is not a public document. If anyone is in the privileged position of getting a copy and would prefer not to have their (user)name attached to making it public then e-mail a scan to (or get in touch by PM) with 'Beemer', and he will post it. Our 'insiders' in the past have retired since Athens and sadly Tony 'Tonyspeke' who had an ability to get hold of such documents immediately once released is no longer with us. Even once the "mayfly" list is released there will be amendments, I can recall there being several editions of the Istanbul mayfly so causing us confusion. Based on past Finals I would think the first couple of departures may be as early as Thursday afternoon (including the team), then a number early in the morning Friday with a flow through until Saturday morning, on past experience.

Really thrilled that LFC reached the final and double thrilled that there will be an airlift. Its been a real eye opener to realise that so little thought has been put into the needs and limitations of fans by the organisers. I hope you guys have a great few days and that not too much gets overflowed to the place up the road. Looking forward to all your photos.

At least Azerbaijan Airlines might play a part in that airlift with their nicely blue coloured B767s, B787s and A340s, just as they usually do for the F1 grand prix as well ...

This thread has become ridiculous - is it possible to remove the conjecture, speculation and waffle. Trying to find some relevant information is becoming a nightmare. At the end of the day all we want to know is what's coming and going and when.

Which at this point of time is the very information that is not available, indeed is simply unknown - any listing now will be only informed conjecture based on information published by tour operators to encourage bookings, or supplied with booking confirmations but subject to change. A definitive version pulling together all sources, produced by the airport/handling agents/airlines, is unlikely to be available until only just before the flights begin. When the slots information is released, we will likely know more, and that list will hopefully appear on nwan shortly after. Note too that our established 'moles' within the airport, who were so invaluable in 2001, 2005 and 2007 for info on the Final 'airlifts' have all retired - hopefully someone new will step in to feed us the information we crave!
