In essence, a non-EU airline has to apply for permission from the National Authority to operate a charter from that country. The charterer has to show that no (in this case) British operator could do the job. It may be 'open skies' within the EU, but not if you wish to use an aircraft of an operator based outside it. Once upon a time these were (I think) 5 Levels of Freedom for aviation operators, and once upon a time I could quote them! There are now nine! But they refer basically to scheduled traffic.

A couple of members of LJLA staff informed us that all on the lists will operate over the weekend except the Malaysian. There will be 56 movements plus a couple of bizjets. I am also informed that the Speke hall bund will be available for spotters but I don't know what the opening times will be on the day as it normally about 10 to 10;30. Beemer.

So, the Malaysian is not happening? In one word "NO" - I was informed an hour ago by the members of staff Beemer is quoting. It also seems that it never was.

I looked at the NT Speke Hall website this morning it doesn't open until 1030 hrs unless they are making special arrangements for this weekend.

Never been to the Bund, what's it like for photos in relation to sun position (looks to be north of the approach)?
Cheers,
GC

GC you are looking south straight into it for most of the year but the sun is quite high know. If it is a dull day no problem and you are quite high up but I still prefer the south side. Beemer.

This thread is going from the sublime to the ridiculous. In the future post only facts, not hear-say or suppositions. Regards Beemer (Administrator)
Remembers the good old days when you went to the airport and see what comes in didn't have mobiles and computers then.

Beemer....suggestion:
Now that we're up to ten pages of waffle but some firm info is starting to appear I would start individual text only threads for 25th,26th and 27th Movement info can then go were it belongs and can be easily seen. Can I also suggest FOR THIS PERIOD ONLY that separate dated photo threads are opened. That way movements can be easily and clearly broadcast and photos can be viewed separately.

The time for discussion and wishful thinking is over, now that facts are known, a new thread for factual, rather than comment, input is now open.
