It should have been from Monday 30th March but, when the blockade is lifted, Loganair will operate the Isle of Man to Liverpool service twice a day using an Embraer 145 in place of the SAAB 340. Flights will arrive Liverpool at 08:00 and 17:30 departing 35 minutes later.
A once daily Isle of Man to Manchester service will also commence.
Of interest is the fact that the BA CityFlyer service between the island and London will be using Heathrow as the London terminus from tomorrow. This flight is flown by a Loganair ATR-42.

I’m trying to wrack my brains to recall if we’ve ever had the Embraer 145 used on a regular scheduled service? Lots of charters, obviously, but scheduled?

Seems to be the totally wrong aircraft for the route. I am sure the ATR-42 will replace the Embraer in time.

In answer to your question Andy. FlyBe scheduled Embraer 145s between Liverpool and Southampton after taking on the BA Connect routes. Also, JetMagic used the Embraer 145 on their short lived Liverpool to Cork service.

Given that the airport is slowly returning to normal, can I assume that Loganair flights are now using the main terminal?

Some slight changes to the Isle of Man service from 1st December.
The morning service Monday to Thursday will be operated by an ATR-42 instead of the Embraer 145.
The evening service on a Friday and Sunday will be operated by an ATR-42 instead of the Embraer 145.
This is due to the Embraer being transferred to the new Isle of Man - London Heathrow service.

Would be nice if they could provide us with a LPL-LHR service

I would have thought that an IOM-LPL-LHR route would be a success.

Excellent news. Given that Ryanair got into a bit of a muddle over this route, a new operator which is not Ryanair or Easyjet can only be good.
