The Airport's website published a press release 3 days ago confirming the above - why does it take three weeks from booking release to press announcement?
EasyJet is to base a 10th aircraft at Liverpool for summer '10, which will operate the already announced Malta flights and also a twice weekly service to Bodrum from 11th June and to Rhodes from 12th June. From the route lengths I would presume that this 10th aircraft is an A.320, rather than an A.319.
With both Ryanair and EasyJet recently declaring new routes and extra based aircraft for summer '10, the Airport Management must be pleased in these times of financial uncertainty, industry retrenchment and falling figures to be expanding futher - however (as has been discussed on another thread on this forum) another based aircraft will put even further strain on a shortage of stands for overnight parking.

There are at least 26 stands are there not? Should be plenty for overnight parking

I agree, 26 stands sounds more than enough. However, EasyJet have declared 10 based aircraft and Ryanair 8 for summer '10, plus the KLM = 19 regular overnight stoppers on stands. If the economy recovers rapidly, maybe add a freight operator needing a stand. Then add in a few ad hoc F-27/An-26 (or larger) freighters, a couple of night stopping larger biz-jets, a fleet spare of either RYR or EZY on station, a couple of early hours departing (or arriving) football charters, then add in early hours fog diversion arrivals and suddenly where do you park them all? Maybe rare to get all the above cases on the same night, but in recent winter months between 2 and 4 non-regular main apron night stoppers has not been an uncommon occurance.

I agree, 26 stands sounds more than enough. However, EasyJet have declared 10 based aircraft and Ryanair 9 for summer '10, plus the KLM = 20 regular overnight stoppers on stands. If the economy recovers maybe add a freight operator needing a stand. Then add in a few ad hoc F-27/An-26 (or larger) freighters, a couple of night stopping larger biz-jets, a fleet spare of either RYR or EZY on station, a couple of early hours departing (or arriving) football charters, then a diversion arrives and suddenly where do you park them all? FR will have 8 based a/c for summer 2010,not nine. There maybe enough stands for night stopping a/c,however more bussing stands will be required at certain times/aircraft waves etc,so this will of course involve more airport resources than at present.

Wow. Calflier is fast off the mark.
I re-read my post once on the board, realised I had made an error, brought up post to amend, answered the telephone, returned and posted the corrected version, and found Calflier already there with a correction!

The remaining S10 schedule has been released so far showing around 220 departures a week. Saturday's schedule appears to require 10 aircraft, with deparures to ALC (0600), AMS (0700), BCN (0715), BFS (0700), FAO (0615), MAH (0705), NCE (0650), CDG (0700), PMI (0620) and AGP (0650). Of the newer routes, August is showing Bordeaux at five pwk, Dubrovnik, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura at 3 per week and Naples at four per week. Trying to find out where the IOM will fit in (there is no room) with the based aircraft reveals some changes to the above with no early Nice and no 10th based aircraft FAR 0615 then GVA (with a MAN return before the return to LPL) PMI 0620 then NCE and FAR MAH 0620 then ALC and PMI ALC 0640 then SXF and NCE AGP 0650 then RHO - A320 AMS 0700 then MAD, BFS and ALC BFS 0700 then JER, PMI and AGP CDG 0700 then BOD and FUE BCN 0715 then KRK and IBZ I am presuming that if the IOM route is to start then there is more routes/frequencies to be revealed especially if EZY is stil to base aircraft number 10 at LPL.

Family member's booking for 4 September originally returning from Malaga (AGP) on EZ7182 has to be altered as flight no longer going to operate - also affects the outbound flight from LPL.
On looking at timetable this has been withdrawn through the summer.
Seems strange taking out such a high-demand flight - looks like part of changes to accommodate other destinations!
Difficult to activate the changes due to demand on easyjet web-site! Had to send e-mail to log interest in the earlier flight home (free change), otherwise web wants to charge over £300 for changes.

They have had major problems with scheduling (see yesterdays press) and sent emails to confirm the flights not operating. The airline later said the emails were sent in error and admitted that the flights will now operate.
You should ask them again about the flights.
