Sorry to be pedantic but cross-channel? Cross North Sea more like! (usually went via Doncaster) ;D

Or, to be even more pedantic - as it's a Dutch airline - Nordsee

Some points from an article www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/ldpbusiness/business-features/2011/09/28/klm-flies-high-with-china-plans-92534-29498017/* KLM has carried almost 300,000 passengers since starting flights exLiverpool * 60% of those passengers connect to flights to other destinations at Schiphol * KLM did go up to four daily flights from Liverpool, but went down to three this summer. Mr Hourcade, however, says that should not be taken as a reduction of its commitment to Liverpool. * Mr Hourcade (KLM) said “If we can grow the traffic, we will go to four." * Nick Smillie (LPL) said: “We’re getting nicely full planes now. We’re getting 70% full, which is good."

I have just had notification that my flight has been dropped between AMS-LPL in February. This has really annoyed me. I have supported KLM as best I can and now after a long flight from Cape Town I am expected to wait 10 hours in AMS. I would have flown the last leg by EZY, but unfortunately their flight times are similar.
There are now only morning and late night flights available during January/February. I appreciate its the quiet months but if they keep messing around regular customers at comparatively short notice, it will be the final straw for many who are trying to support them. (The last long haul I took with them was also 'messy' - I have not been treated so poorly by other airlines, including Ryanair).

On another note to my last post, single fares from AMS to LPL on the same day are showing an incredible 610 euros single. This is usually a precursor to stating 'insufficient demand' and dropping the flights totally. I hope i'm wrong, but...

Isn't this a regular post-Christmas action by airlines?

Isn't this a regular post-Christmas action by airlines? The period between New Year and Easter is supposedly the worst time for airlines.

I wonder if other KLM routes to UK regional airports have seen a similar reduction during the winter. It would be worrying if LPL was the only one Kev

in the time period - LPL down from 3 to 2 MAN - 5 (no changes) BRS - down from 4 to 3 BHX - 5 (no changes) CWL - 3 (no changes) MME - 3 (no changes) HUY - 3 (no changes) LBA - 3 (no changes) NCL - 4 (no changes) NWI - 3 (no changes) The LPL flights do return to the normal 3 per day after a short period but most other airports except bristol haven't seen any changes and theirs also go back up to four after the period Is there a link between the airports with reduced frequencies for the period and competition from other carriers? Really hope they do not permanently reduce the service after this!

This follows ten days over Christmas with the similar 2-flight schedule. This includes Christmas Day.
