It’s not all about load factors. If the yield isn’t there then it’s losing money and it will be cut. Im gutted this route has stopped as it’s was my easiest option to get home every few months. Sadly back to MAN But the yields must have been high, I used in on Wednesday and the one way to Frankfurt was £381.00. It was the same on Friday and for tomorrow. I know its been more than this earlier this year. They have also put larger planes on on occasion. .

Is there any chance the LPL operation had a negative impact on their Manchester operation? It could be possible that Manchester saw a reduction in numbers ( I don’t know this as fact ) but maybe they decided to prioritise their bigger Manchester operation.
I still really hope they will be back.

I feel the same, really want to see a return . I would have thought they would have expected some migration of passengers from MAN to LPL, I would have expected them to have planned for that.
I think KLM experienced this phenomenon.

It’s quite conceivable that the LPL operation impacted on MAN, but there are a few other facts to consider.
Bristol has also been discontinued.
Newcastle has been reduced to twice weekly throughout January and four times weekly for the following couple of months.
It’s highly likely that Belfast will lose a weekly rotation as it appears Wednesdays are priced artificially high to discourage booking.
In context, therefore, it would appear that Lufthansa is finding the UK regions less attractive. The reason for that is not currently disclosed.

An interesting article I read on the Internet today. No shortage of aircraft for some routes, it seems;'
Lufthansa is set to expand its summer flight offerings with the introduction of new European destinations from both Munich and Frankfurt. This strategic move aims to provide travellers with diverse options, ranging from the breathtaking landscapes of Norway to the historical charm of France and the unique northern allure of Finland. Additionally, the Republic of Moldova is making a comeback on the flight schedule, enhancing connectivity and accessibility for passengers....

It seems Lufthansa may have lied to Liverpool airport. The airport was not expecting them to pull out and only 3 days before Lufthansa was making plans to expand frequencies in routes.
“ It is particularly disappointing, since by the airline’s own admission the route from Liverpool has been performing well and growing steadily in line with forecasts. In fact only a matter of days earlier colleagues had been discussing with members of the Lufthansa team, expected growth of the service next summer and had signed off on various promotional overseas campaigns for the coming months”

I read an article last week which mentioned that Lufthansa have suspended the Liverpool service due to ongoing problems with the Airbus A320NEO fleet.
A Lufthansa spokesmen was also quoted as saying "The Liverpool route was cut because it has not met financial expectations,"
The article was in a Brussels-based journal and I desperately trying to find it again.

I would be very surprised if the Liverpool route wasn't performing well, when we know they upped frequency and the fares could often be really high. Loads were also good, ending at 80%. The airport said they had plans to grow the route this year. What happened was out of the blue.

Load factors are not necessarily indicative of profit. Remember, when the route was launched it was to be operated by A320s but was quickly reduced to a Canadair RJ-900
