The visits of the Embraer 190s were normally due to aircraft substitution and not down to loads. The A319 visits were for a specific event, namely Eurovision.
I flew on one of the A319 flights, Frankfurt to Liverpool, and their were 17 of us on board (low even for a CRJ-900). However, it was full returning to Frankfurt.

I flew on a full E190. Let's stop undermining what has been a route success for Liverpool. From all accounts the airport and Lufthansa this route was growing. Hopefully it will return sooner rather than later, along with FRA - BRS and NCL ( which may still just about be running )

these are press responses from LH when the route was suspended. Dont want to knock LJLA but if this route was making decent money why would they suspend it? and to be honest the frequency and timings didnt work for lots of connections. I know people who tried to support it but had to either depart or return to MAN
Lufthansa is continuously evaluating and optimizing its entire route network. Due to unscheduled maintenance work on Pratt & Whitney engines in the Lufthansa Airbus A320neo fleet, Lufthansa Airlines will have significantly fewer aircraft available next year 2024 than originally planned. The company has therefore decided to suspend some routes from February 2024 that have not shown a positive economic development in recent months. One of the route that is affected by this suspension is Frankfurt - Liverpool. Lufthansa regrets this decision. The cancellations will be published in the reservation systems on December 19, 2023 and passengers affected by cancellations will be informed and rebooked on alternative flights.
Kind regards, Boris Ogursky
Many thanks for coming back to me. This stop in the operation has nothing to do with the foundation of City Airlines. The reasons are stated below and are as said a mixture of aircraft availability and no recent positive development of the route affected. Currently there is no decision taken yet if Lufthansa is coming back to Liverpool.

The Frankfurt service had an average load factor of just over 70% in 2023.

For the sake of repeating whats been said the financial expectation of the route was inline with LHs expectation for a less than 18 month old new route.
Plans where in place to grow the route to the next stage in the plan before the plug was pulled.

Lufthansa also said from the outset they would stick with the route for a period of around 5 years in order for it to develop . This was stated by the airports CEO at fola. What has happened was a complete shock to the airport management with no communication that this was in the offing. As already stated, the plans were to grow the route in 2024. The last quarter of operation was 77 %

And yet Lufthansa say different. Whether we agree with it, and I don't, or not then Lufthansa has the final word

I'm not sure a LH media spokes person, is who Liverpool Airport is dealing with. Negotiations will be on going.
Let's not forget this is the best hub opportunity Liverpool has had in a long time, if it does not return, its highly unlikely there will be another.

Sadly, I have to agree with you silvercity. I really thought KLM was the one at the time!
