I thought while the dark nights are drawing in and spotting hours are restricted why not give the Forum photographers some thing to do. Go through all your photos for photos of Gate Guards from any where. They don't have to be on a pole or plinth but situated at the entrance of any facility. I will start the ball rolling with my selection. Thought i would throw this one in although it is a plastic Spitfire it was the gate guardian at Hooton Park and at that time in 610 SQD colours, it was saved and earns a living helping to promote The Lytham St Annes Spitfire appeal this photo was taken in Wigan on 22nd of September Regards JJ Attachments:

JetJockey's posting makes a good transition to my offerings of guardians from a long time ago! Of the 4 shown, one is 'long gone', another 'donated' it's wings to a restoration, & the third, former'member' of the Woodvale THUM flight, is enjoying a life with the BoB Flight! The last one, a Hurricane Mk.4(?), I have no record of its identity, location or date! Anyone have any ideas? Gloster Meteor F4VN790 at RAF Hornchurch, 19 August 1960. Spitfire LF16e RM694/6640M at RAF Hornchurch, 19 August 1960. Spitfire PR19 PS915/7548M at RAF West Malling, April 1960. Unknown Hurricane.

53-5078 T-33A Dickinson. ND. USA. Apparently corrosion caused this "bird" to fall off it's perch a couple of years ago but it now fully restored.
