Ryanair have binned the as yet to start Almeria route due to lack of support from local tourist board.
Where will those two flights per week now go?

Does anybody know whether there is any truth to the following posted today on another aviation website please?
"FR is to drop at least 6 destinations from its summer schedule out of LPL : Almeria, Milan Bergamo, Oslo Rygge, Rimini, Rome Ciampino, Stockholm Skavsta".

If Im reading Tonyspekes post right, then it seems Oslo Rygge and Stockholm Skatsva were dropped some time before the 7th Feb (for Tony to have noticed for his post) Ive also checked Ryanair site, and none of the routes seem to be bookable (I checked June as thats when the summer peak begins to kick in)

Worrying thing there is the 'at least 6 destinations' which would imply 1 or maybe 2 aircraft are being re-located, unless they are (unlikely I think) replacing them with different routes. They have recently announced a load of new routes from Stansted, and it says on pprune that a press conference has been called in Alicante tomorrow, they need to get the planes for those routes from somewhere.

Those routes they announced last week are the usual summer restarts.

Most if not all of the routes mentioned above show no available flights from Liverpool on the booking site when I tried them yesterday and today.

I booked to go to Almeria in September, I have not received any info from Ryanair and I checked my booking tonight and it is still alive. Obviously they are not announcing this officially yet.

Id ring them if I was you, as Almeira is not even listed as a destination from LPL in the booking engine. Only recently we saw another forum member 'fobbed off' regarding his KLM flights, so, best to get your money back now so that you can re-book for something else if you so wish.

It seems there is some issue with Ryanair and Italy,at the moment, and they may drop other Italian routes from other airports, but not sure what the issue is!

Ryanair have confirmed today that Liverpool Milan Bergamo dropped for the summer - I was offered a choice of refund or transfer to Manchester flight.
Seems to be more a Ryanair problem with Liverpool rather than with Italy.

[ Almeria has been dropped due to poor interest from the local tourist board Milan ryan are have an issue with a few Italian airports so more flights may be canceled although its still bookable from Liverpool Milan not bookable on Ryanair website, and poster above has been told by Ryanair that route cancelled, so offered refund or MAN flight. Not to start 'one of those debates', as this is a general observation, but are you sure its not LPL that's the issue. MAN-BGY/CIA still bookable despite being dropped at LPL, and only recently have new routes been added in Italy (LTN-Alghero is one, but there were others that I cannot remember) Even if it was Italy thats the issue, Doesn't explain Oslo Rygge and Stockholm Skatsva disappearing.

Very true ryan in a spot of trob at the moment some flights from other airports to go soon as well, but will all be replaced with other routes. I would expect the LPL routes to be replaced in some form, as the routes cut at their frequencies are not enough to worry about loosing an aircraft (6 frequencies based on OSL/SKT already gone before summer allocation planned). I would reckon that RYG/CIA/BGY gone purely because of the routes down the road, and Ryanair not wanting to dilute its own flights.

They were still advertising Milan and Rome on Radio City this morning, although to be fair City were probably given the ads to run a few weeks ago before it was so quickly dropped. They have just abruptly announced a plane was being pulled out of Edinburgh as well doe to BAA refusing to drop prices any further. Hopefully they do decide to run other routes from LPL that arent served from MAN instead of pull a plane out and relocate it elsehwere - echoing what OLeary said a few months ago about LPL remaining static but with no growth. It's a shame LPL is so reliant on them because they way they go about their business nothing can be taken for granted and but so many jobs are on the line because of them. In a years time they may have fell out with MAN and put a load more aircraft back here, or pulled from LPL altogether.

The way RYANAIR's boss goes on about things i would not be surprised he pulled the plug on LPL, sorry but thats what i fear will happen and if EASY don't put more routes in place they could do the same, hope not but who knows. sorry about the doom and gloom.
