Any ideas why they don't offer Toronto despite the connections being well timed, and offered from Leeds and Manchester with pretty much the same connection times?

That doesn't make much sense.....why not send a message to Aer Lingus and the airport itself.

That doesn't make much sense.....why not send a message to Aer Lingus and the airport itself. I used Toronto back to Liverpool via Dublin in November. It was a bit of a long wait in Dublin - five hours, I recall. That said, we were in business from Toronto and we used the lounge. Fell asleep in some of the large seats there, which is always a danger! It was a great connection, though, and Aer Lingus service was excellent. By contrast, went from Manchester to Munich via Heathrow a week or so back. Security slow due to practically every bag being searched. Staff at security obviously learned very little at charm school . . .

Thanks for the account,.nice to hear Aer Lingus provided you a good experience Transatlantic from Liverpool. Its something that needs promoting as.mucb as possible from Liverpool.
I rarely use Manchester Airport these days, but when I have it tended to be terminal 1, the security there was.dire.
What a shame Lufthansa is suspended from here, that would have got you to Munich.

Very surprised that this topic is 7 pages in and nobody has yet pointed out that it is Emerald AIRLINES not, AIRWAYS Emerald Airways was a previous well loved Liverpool airline that flew to IoM.

Glynmon, how did you book your ticket if you don't mind me asking? Was it with Aer Lingus directly or through an OTL? Was it two separate bookings?
Further to my post last week, I contacted Aer Lingus. The website promised a reply within 2hrs. They responded 29hrs later. I asked them *why* they do not offer the Toronto-Liverpool connection and which date I was interested in. Even gave them the flight numbers and asked is there a way they can book me onto it.
The response "was sorry for the late reply, we don't offer this connection"
So the alternative is to book back to Manchester or Leeds, and watch from my plane window the Dublin-Liverpool flight taxiing out to the runway at pretty much the same time as me.
I tried to contact the airport but gave up, the website gives very little contact details and mostly relates to parking.
Is someone here able to explain the rationale behind this? Ie why only a selection of destinations are able to be booked through unlike MAN/LBA which have all transatlantic connections available for sale?

I found this e-mail address on the Liverpool Airport website customerservices@liverpoolairport.com It might be worth raising the Toronto flight with them who might be able to contact Aer Lingus.

Hi Highfly, Sorry to be slow replying. I booked on Aer Lingus website. Booked the flights separately, which can be a bit risky if there are delays. Just allow at least a couple of hours in Dublin. We also went Liverpool-New York via Dublin. About two and a half hours connection at Dublin. The USA immigration was a dream. Took less than two minutes. There was no problem at check in with the separate flight booking. Boarding cards issued and baggage checked to destination. It’s a brilliant service.

One to look out for, a "new" ATR-72 EI-HNA was delivered to the airline yesterday and entered service today operating to Manchester. The aircraft was formerly operated by Garuda-indonesia.
