A 6am Departure from Prague is not good!

Surely it's better than no departure from Prague! Plenty of people get up in time for 6am departures from Liverpool and other airports - why should PRG be any different?

I am glad that Wizz are to continue to Prague and an early outbound time is not a problem for a weekend or short break but agree that a 6am return departure time from Prague will be very unattractive and given any better timed choice from other airports may well lose some existing users.

Prague as a destination attracts the UK Leisure City Break market, I would guess that that segment of the market will not accept a 6am departure from Prague. They would look at alternative airports or cities to maximise their break and not be seen to "waste" a nights stay in a hotel. In addition there is no public trnasport to get you to Prague Airport for 4am. It is all about perception, I am afraid

I do take your point, however the problem is no different for returning tourists leaving Liverpool for home on a first wave 6 to 7.30am departure from Liverpool. Cost of night without the benefit of a day's holiday, be at airport for 4am, no early hours public transport etc.
In Prague terms I would imagine that a fair number of the younger end of the market would take advantage of an extra evening, last bus to the airport and take a few bottles to continue the party overnight. Who needs the last night to be in a hotel? After all lots of visitors to Liverpool don't - last time I was through LJLA early hours the terminal had a great number of bodies lying around solving the 6am departure the cheap way.!

You could also argue that a 7:15 arrival into Liverpool would actually allow you to get into work that day so the day might not be a total loss. Time will tell, as they say.

Somebody has to go out on the first wave. I'm glad its not me though. First flight out of my "local" La Rochelle is to Lyon at 05-45. Its mostly businessmen paying a phenomenally high fare for the privilege of not getting any sleep the night before. Oh am I glad I am retired and not having to do that kind of thing anymore.

Wizz Air has taken delivery of Airbus A320 HA-LWA and the aircraft visited Luton twice on Friday and the aircraft appears to be based at Warsaw at the moment.

Time has told for the Prague service. The last flight will be on 11th May.
The only decently timed Wizzair flight is also to be lost. From 19/6 the Katowice service will arrive at 2125 and depart 2155 meaning an arrival time in Poland of 0120. There will be only three fights a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The Warsaw service continues with the early arrival, but the Sunday flight will end on 12/9, leaving just three flights a week.
Only Gdansk remains unchanged with the four early flights each week.

Seems strange to have such a quick change of heart. Could it have something to do with cutbacks following the volcano incident or have Prague's charges risen too steeply for Wizz aswell as Ryanair.

It would seem that Wizzair feel there are better yields to be gained on other routes connecting with Prague. This indicates performance on Liverpool not as expected. See news item issued 30.4.2010: wizzair.com/about_us/news/#wizen056I would like to think that Prague could be resurrected with either Wizzair as they have experienced the route & worked with UK travel companies to produce packages. If it is not possible with Wizzair might easyJet consider the route?

Sad news to lose a very popular destination choice from Liverpool - lets hope that Wizz or easyJet do think about it in the future.
Re-introduction of the lost Basel, Cologne, Brussels, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness routes would also be good - not to mention some IT's to Corfu, Zante etc.

"In Prague terms I would imagine that a fair number of the younger end of the market would take advantage of an extra evening, last bus to the airport and take a few bottles to continue the party overnight. Who needs the last night to be in a hotel?" unquote.
Now that really is an attractive thought, loads of UK travellers sitting in an airport with alcohol waiting to board an aircraft. NOT.

It's already plauged with delays and god help the us when it's delayed at that time, especailly people with families!
