Article in today's Daily Post confirms that a Beatles exhibition is being staged in Prague as part of a campaign to encourage visitors to Liverpool. Ironic that it comes the same week as the announcement that the route is to be pulled. Still may mean more Czech passengers for Manchester!

Wizz Air schedules to LJLA are being further reduced. From 9th September Gdansk reduces from 4 to 3 flights (no Monday flight) and Katowice from 3 to 2 (no Thursday flight)(perhaps as a result of the late arrival into Poland). The reduction of Warsaw from 4 to 3 from this date had already been announced (no Sunday flight). With the winter timetable the service is futher reduced down to 2, with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays arriving at 1830 (perhaps a more attractive time).
All three services have an extra flight for three weeks at Christmas.

Is there any reason why Wizz are reducing flights into LPL? I use the flight to Katowice , when it was a afternoon flight and the flights were always full. So unless it's the change in times which has killed them off? If that was the case, you would think they would do something about it, instead of cutting back even more.

Gdnansk and Warsaw are not great tourist destinations for British passengers, and Katowice/Krakow is also well served by easyjet and ryanair.

I don't think Warsaw, Gdansk or Katowice were popular with us Brits, in fact im sure at times I was the only one of some of my flights to KTW. But just seems strange how all three destinations had good flight times, service and now the times have all been changed, services cut. It must be said that landing in Katowice at 1.20am does do harm to their service and if it stays that way, in 12 months the service will be gone! Come on easyJet, start a service to KTW!! ;D

That is a problem with presenting isolated items of data without commentary. Are there as many flights this year as last - I don't think there are? This year all flights are at antisocial times of day (ie very late/very early), from memory there were some afternoon timings last year. Can LPL confirm? One set of data LPL posted 10 days or so ago, showed WizzAir in March as achieving high load percentages, so there are factors behind the drop in total pax numbers in the period covered beyond a simple 'oh dear, that's not good news'.

In order to do a commentary on every one of over 60 routes (ignoring the fact I have not the time) I need the schedules for last year. But over time (ie January next year) I will have all the stats to compare/show both monthly sets of figures more fully, but I still wont have the time to do a commentary. I have a spreadsheet for this years seat numbers as worked out from the 09/27 timetable, but working that into the stats threads will result in dressing up load factors in another way again (unless I am missing something else?).

I'm not asking for a commentary on each of 60 routes (although clearly the best and worst performing may need background analysis/explanation). The tables of figures, especially load factors provide lots of scope for the viewer to compare performance.
It is the single figure posts for an operator's performance over a period in comparison with the same period last year that need some interpretation in order to provide an informed understanding.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really interested in what you are doing with the official data and delighted that you are spending considerable time and effort bringing the information to the forum. For many though, bare data though is meaningless without some interpretation/commentary/guidance as to what the headline figures actually show.

As I dont have last years timetable I cant see how I can compare with last years figures. Also if I did have last years figures then the same situation will apply because then those figures would need the 2009 data. See what I am getting at?
